Muscowpetung Saulteaux Nation (MSN) believes that the most valuable asset is the employees and to recognize their value MSN is committed to establishing employment guidelines that will ensure a competent workforce. These guidelines shall be fair and equitable to all people and free of any discrimination based on race, nationality, ethnic origin, colour, age, gender, religion or disability. And to further provide training opportunities to ensure all employees hired possess the qualified skills to perform the duties of their job.

This shall be established by the following guidelines:

  1. Recruitment:
    1. MSN shall endeavor to fill each job vacancy within a reasonable time frame. This shall be achieved by advertisement, screening, interviews, and Criminal Records check.
  2. Job Creation:
    1. MSN shall accept any job creation proposal from any Program Director as long as it meets the criteria of the department sustainability and budget availability.
  3. Safety:
    1. MSN shall ensure that each Program Director is knowledgeable of the “Occupational Safety and Health Act and is in compliance with that Act.
  4. Employee Relations:
    1. MSN shall ensure employer-employee relationship is strengthen by measuring job performance and resolving conflict in a holistic manner, whether internally or by mediation within a reasonable time frame.
  5. Compensation & Benefits:
    1. MSN shall put into place a salary scale for professional and support staff to ensure compensation is transparent and fair. And to further put into place a group benefits and pension plan for all full time employees for their protection and security.
  6. Compliance:
    1. MSN shall be in compliance with all labor and employment laws within the Province of Saskatchewan and all Federal labor and employment laws.
  7. Training & Development:
    1. MSN endeavors to ensure that all employees have the tools necessary for their success, which may mean training or professional development, so long as it is mandated to their department or for the benefit of the MSN.
